JAMMU, July 26: BJP Beopar Cell today submitted a charter of demands to the Government asking it to initiate various development works in Jammu city and promote tourism in the region.
The charter of demands was presented to the Government through Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta by BJP Beopar Cell State convener KB Mohtra at the inauguration of the office of the Cell at Gandhi Nagar, here today. Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi, senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi, MLA Rajesh Gupta, MLA Sat Sharma and BJP general secretary Manish Sharma were also present.
The demands raised by the Beopar Mandal through the memorandum included construction of fly-overs from Ambphalla Chowk to Shakuntla Crossing, Jewel Chowk to Canal Head and Ambphalla Chowk to Janipur, widening of Talab Tillo Road from Canal Head to Bohri, construction of Cricket Academy at Bajalta, construction of Gondola Cable Car project from Mubarak Mandi Complex to Bahu Fort/Mahamaya Temple, developing of Mahamaya temple hills on the pattern of Bagh-e-Bahu, widening of Circular Road from Gujjar Nagar to Panjtirthi, construction of multi level parking at Jammu Bus Stand, etc.
For the development of tourist spots in Jammu province Cell demanded to upgrade aquarium at Bagh-e-Bahu, start work on cable car project at Patnitop, development of Bhaderwah, Chinta, Jai Sartingal, Padri Gali, development of Bani Sarthal Tourist circuit, development of Sukrala Devi-Bala Sundri, development of Mansar-Surinsar lakes, development of Krimchi, Pancheri, Lander area in Udhampur district, construction of Tourist Reception Centre at Pancheri, development of Devika at Udhampur, etc.
Through memorandum, BJP Beopar Cell also demanded electric lighting from Kunjwani Chowk to Nagrota Check Post, Satwari Chowk to Kunjwani Chowk, Kunjwani Chowk to Sarore Bari Brahmana and Satwari Chowk to RS Pura, decongestion of Kunjwani Chowk for vehicular traffic by way of constructing fly-over type rotary, improvement of electric distribution system in Gandhi Nagar, improvement of parks and gardens in Gandhi Nagar, etc.
Among others present were President Gandhi Nagar Welfare Committee Arun Bakshi, Secretary Uttam Singh Jamwal, Vipin Sharma of Jamna Travels, Ravi Sharma Convener NGO Cell, and all co-conveners of Trade Cell besides Mandal President Tarsem Choudhary, Sat Pal Choudhary and other leaders of the district and mandal unit of the party.
