REASI, Feb 6: Big potholes on the road from Reasi Bus Stand to Police Station Reasi make this stretch accident prone and major inconvenience to the commuters but the concerned authority seems to have turned a Nelson’s eye toward the issue.
Slamming casual approach of the PWD, locals of the area said that with heavy footfall, the said road is one of the busiest stretches in the district but its worst condition invites risk of accidents because of big potholes. If we talk about the other roads of the adjoining areas like Jyotipuram, there are also big potholes, they added .
“Whenever the concerned authority is approached for taking up necessary steps, the usual reply is that the department has no funds or tenders are being flouted for the work,” locals said.
The extremely bad condition of the road has also damaged personal vehicles of the people, who have no option other than to ply on the stretch for reaching their destination.
