JAMMU, Oct 6: Defeating Rashmi Kashyap convincingly in the summit clash, Bhavini lifted the Under-13 girls singles title in the ongoing 30th Jammu District Badminton Championship, being organized by Jammu City and District Badminton Association at Badminton Hall, Gulshan ground, here.
Bhavini defeated Rashmi (2-1) by (21-14, 17-21, 21-11) in Under-13 girls singles event, while in Under-13 girls doubles final, the duo of Rashmi Kashyap and Anandita Khajuria trounced the pair of Bhavini and Riya by (21-11, 19-21, 21-8) to claim the title.
Earlier, in Under-13 boys doubles final, Aesh and Suraj got better of Vidhan and Yash in an easy contest by (21-14, 21-15) to win the title, while in Under-15 boys doubles title clash, Aesh and Yashinder prevailed over Prajwal and Aryan by (21-17, 21-13).
Priyatam Singh beat Shaurya by (21-9, 21-5) in Under-10 boys singles final to win the title, while in Under-10 girls singles final, Snowy outplayed Ruhani by (21-7, 21-7) to claim the title.
In Under-19 girls doubles semifinals, Naman and Peehushi prevailed over Janvi and Niteshi and Mitashi and Aakriti trounced Kajal and Rashmi, while in Under-19 girls singles semifinal, Naman beat Kajal in an easy contest by (21-3, 21-6).
In Under-19 boys singles semifinals, Divam beat Mohit and Raghav Dogra outplayed Savinay Mengi.
In Under-15 girls doubles semifinal, Naman and Akriti outclassed Sharon and Jemy to enter the finals, while in Under-13 boys semifinal, Aesh beat Sparsh Singh and Yashdeep defeated Vidhant.
In Under-17 girls singles semifinal, Pihushi got better of Bhavini, while in Under-17 boys singles semifinal, Aesh toppled Savinay Mengi.
In veterans, Anil Gurkha, Balbir Jamwal, Ramesh Sharma, Lalit Arora and Vivek Mehta registered wins over their rivals to stay alive in the Tournament.
