KATRA, Dec 14: AK Bhan, retired DGP inaugurated the Sports Meet 2016 organized by District Police Reasi, under the Civic Action Programme of J&K Police.
Four events namely Football, Wushu, Handball and Gymnastic are being held at Multipurpose Sports Stadium Katra and DPS Kakryal.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhan while appreciating the initiative of Police for holding such tournaments at the grass-root level said, that such events not only help in inculcating sports culture among the youth but also paves way for improving police public relation.
Underlining the importance of such events, he said that imbibing the sports culture in youth will take them away from mobile and video games culture which adversely affect the health of the youth.
AK Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB Katra was the guest of honour, besides Piyush Singla, Addl. Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB Katra, Tahir Bhat, SSP Reasi, Sameer Kotwal, Addl. SP Katra, Ashok Sharma SDPO Katra and prominent citizens of Katra were present on the occasion.
