Bhalla launches attack on BJP, ‘Chanda Chori’ campaign

JAMMU, Sept 1: Former Minister and working president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Raman Bhalla today called upon party workers to intensify their outreach among the people and expose what he described as the “real face” of the BJP.

Addressing  the meeting  of secretaries and executive member of Jammu  unit organised  by district congress committee president and former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, Bhalla said Congress workers must remain connected with the grassroot and educate people about what he alleged were the BJP’s failures, contradictions and “anti-people policies”.

The meeting was organised in connection with the launch of the “Chanda Chori” and “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaigns aimed at highlighting issues that the Congress claims have been ignored by the BJP.

Taking a sharp dig at the BJP leadership, Bhalla alleged that the party’s leaders were supporting people allegedly involved in the theft of donations collected for the construction of the Shri Ram temple at Ayodhya. He questioned the BJP’s claims of maintaining high standards of morality and accountability, alleging that its leaders had adopted “double standards” when confronted with allegations concerning the misuse or misappropriation of public donations.

Bhalla said the Congress would take these issues directly to the people through sustained public outreach campaigns and would seek answers from those in power. He urged the Congress workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroot level and ensure that the party’s message reached every section of society.

Sawhney stressed the need for greater coordination among party workers to make the campaigns effective. He said the Congress needed to strengthen its organisational network and establish sustained communication with the people at the grassroot. He called upon party workers to actively participate in the campaigns and raise issues concerning the common people, youth and students.

The meeting was also addressed by Th Man Mohan Singh, Satish Sharma, Amrit Bali, Prem Sharma, Sat Pal Sapolia, Kewal Krishan Jogi, Vinod Kohli, Sohit Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Harvinder Kour, Vijay Sharma, Manmohan Sharma and others.
