Bhairavasthmi to be celebrated from Nov 5-11 at Bhairav Temple

JAMMU, Oct 12: This year ‘Bhairavasthmi’ will be celebrated like a festival spread over five days in the premises of ancient Bhairav Temple, Chowk Chabutra, Jammu.
Revealing this to media persons here today, manager of the Temple, Pandit Rumil Sharma, said that the arrangements of the celebration has been started and the whole market right from Panjirthi to Chowk Chabutra is being decorated with flowers and colourful lights.
He said that the celebration will be started on November 5 and last till November 11 during which bhandara will be served to the devotees. “Like every year, Prabhat Feri, bikers rally, congregations of biradaries, fast, Bhairav Archana, Sammellan, religious procession, Poojan of Jhangam Baba, Brahmin and Kanya Poojan will be done”, he added.
Pandit Rumil Sharma further informed that during five-day festival, a special Aarti will be performed everyday at 7 pm. He said that usually this Aarti is performed in the temple once a month. Elaborating more about this special Aarti, he said that this Aarti is performed here like the one which is performed in world famous Mahakaaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.
“Those who participate in this Aarti get their desired wishes fulfilled and receive blessings from Lord Bhairav Nath, who also removes their sufferings”, he said, adding this year, a large number of devotees from various parts of the State are supposed to participate in the celebrations.
