Jammu, Feb 4: Seeking decisive mandate of the people to establish a new system of justice and equality in Jammu and Kashmir, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh today said that PDP wants to use democratic institutions as a mean to bring positive changes in the prevailing corrupt system.
Addressing convention of the party card holders at Dogra Hall area here today, Mr Beigh said that political of PDP is not only to grab power but to replace the present corrupt dispensation with a new system of equality and justice where every individual will get equal opportunity of growth.
“PDP is seeking mandate to change destiny of the people of State”, he said and called upon the party workers to intensify the on-going campaign for change. “Coming Lok Sabha elections are an opportunity to channelize anger of the people against this Government”, he said and emphasised on inter-regional unity to solve all problems of the State.
Reiterating resolve of his party to work for the socio-economic growth of weaker sections, Beigh said that empowerment and upliftment of marginalized lot of the society is main agenda of the party. He emphasised on formulating policies which help in inclusive growth and emancipation of suppressed and neglected lot of the society. He argued that socio-economic growth of the Dalits, Other Backward Classes (OBCs), women, refugees and other weaker sections was must for the over-all development of the society.
“There is a need to formulate a comprehensive policy especially to target these sections for inclusive development in the society”, Programmes and policies of PDP are formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society, he said and reminded that gathering that during PDP led regime various programmes were launched for the upliftment of weaker sections of society.
Coming down heavily on ruling National Conference for its double speak, Mr Beigh regretted that for the sake of power National Conference leadership usually speak different language at different occasions to befool the people.
Trilok Singh Bajwa, Yash Pal Sharma, Ved Mahajan, Hamid Choudhary, Rashid Malik, Hussain Ali Bafa, Fallail Singh, Deepinder Kour, Rajinder Manhas and others spoke on the occasion.
