BATOTE, Jan 23: Batote Development Forum (BDF) reiterated its demand for the tehsil status for Batote niabat of Ramban district and decried the irrational categorization of the areas for the Reserved Backward Area (RBA) category.
In the meeting of BDF, President Beopar Mandal, Sanjay Gupta and ex-chairman Municipal Committee, Batote Ravinder Singh said that the areas falling in certain cities or towns enjoying the RBA category benefits should be deleted so that actually deserving backward people get the benefit of the RBA category.
They urged to incorporate whole of the Patnitop area into the Batote niabat to end the practice of calling senior officers from Udhampur and Ramban districts during any VIP visit or meeting.
