BD stages protest, torches effigy of Geelani

JAMMU, June 11: The Bajrang Dal (BD) activists’ today protested in front of Press Club here against the Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani and torched his effigy twice.
The protest was led by BD co-convener State, Rakesh Sharma and it was also addressed by Kartik Sudan city convener of the organization.
Raising slogans against the Geelani and other separatists, the BD demanded their immediate arrest and deportation to Pakistan. They said that these separatists have no place in India as on the behest of Pakistan and other anti India agencies they are hell bent to disturb peace in J&K and threaten the national unity and Integrity.
Rakesh Sharma urged both Union and State Governments to act firmly against Geelani and not to allow him to hold anti India convention in Srinagar on June 14. He warned if Geelani is allowed to hold the convention, BD will hold a nation-wide protest and launch agitation.
He said Geelani has been shown a lot of leniency by the Government of India and it is high time to act against him by putting him behind the bars. The Hurriyat hardliner should be dealt under Sedition Act and his entire property seized besides his security be withdrawn.
He said Geelani was befooling Kashmiris and he was responsible for entire blood shed and miseries of the people of the State for socalled Azadi. He said Geelani is spilling venom and trying to create communal disturbances in the country and such people have place in a jail only.
Kartik Sudan in his address said BD will not allow Geelani to hold convention in Srinagar and urged the Government to arrest all those people who have been invited by Hurriyat leader in the convention.
