“In the last 36 hours, number of attempts to disrupt the peace and target the Amarnath Yatra were made in Kashmir. A BAT attempt was made on one of the forward posts in Keran sector which was foiled by alert troops resulting in the killing of five to seven Pak regulars/militants,” Srinagar based Defence Ministry spok-esman Rajesh Kalia said here.

There is tension along the LoC in Kashmir as Army says that they have noticed increased activity of militants at launch pads. They said that several infiltration attempts have been foiled and troops are on heightened alert.
Army chief General Bipin Rawat also visited forward areas two days ago and reviewed the situation along the LoC and preparedness of the Counter-Militancy Infiltration Grid.
