Banihal car blast case cracked, Hizb terrorist arrested: J&K Police Chief

JAMMU: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Monday declared that the Banihal car blast has been cracked with the arrest of one Hizbul Mujaheedin terrorist.

On March 31 at about 2030 hrs at Upper Gund (Banihal) one person namely Owais Amin, son of Mohammad Amin Rather, resident of Vehil, Chatta Waran, Shopian was apprehended by joint Mobile Vehicle Check Posts of Army and J&K Police who was trying to sneak to valley.

He was having injuries and burn marks when he was apprehended, the police chief said adding that on the basis of scientific evidence which was collected from the scene of crime, the accused was put to sustained questioning during which he confessed to his role in the terrorist act. (AGENCIES)
