JAMMU, Apr 15: Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Bali Bhagat today appealed to the youth to dedicate their lives in the service of humanity at large in order to ensure the welfare of every individual irrespective of caste, creed, colour, religion or region.
He made this appeal while addressing a congregation at Baba Bhagta Sadh Ji Maharaj Temple in Keran, Bantalab where he had gone to pay obeisance today.
The senior BJP leader while highlighting the life history of the great saint said, “Baba Bhagta Sadh Ji Maharaj devoted all his life for the welfare of humanity irrespective of barriers of caste or creed existing in the society during his times.” He appealed to the youth to follow the path shown by this great Saint as that would not only be the best tribute and obeisance to him but would also earn a respectable position to the youth in the society. He said that there is an old adage which emphasizes that service to humanity is the service to God and the same principle was practically followed by Baba Bhagta Sadh Ji Maharaj. He enjoined upon the younger generation to sacredly serve the people across all sections of the society and invoke the blessings of this great saint.
It is pertinent to mention here that the annual Bhandara is organized at this holy shrine ‘The Gaddi Baba Sad Bhagatha’ in Keran village of Jammu and many Sangats from all over the country participate in the Bhandara, headed by Gaddi Nasheen of the Shrine. Thousands of devotees both local as well as those from other states especially Punjab and Haryana come here to pay obeisance every year. However, like previous year, this year too, the function witnessed sparse participation due to sudden surge of COVID-19 cases during the ongoing second wave.
Others who accompanied the former Minister included Sukh Dev Singh Jamwal, BDC Chairpersons Surinder Kumar Bhagat from Marh, Madan Lal Bhagat from Phalian Mandal, Kuldeep Bhagat from Bhalwal and Rakesh Kumar ‘Naib Sarpanch’ from Marh.
