Kathua, Nov 15: Former Minister Babu Singh who is Congress candidate for Kathua Assembly seat, today conducted a door-to-door campaign in favour of Congress in Nagri and said that he is contesting Assembly election with a vision and specific agenda to serve the people of Kathua who are deprived of development.
Addressing series of meetings in different parts of Nagri Babu Singh, who was accompanied by Congress senior leaders Naresh Sharma, Tarsem Paul Saini and Dr. Madhu Sudan said that in Kathua, which comprised of five Assembly constituency, Congress wave is on peak and in its competition BJP stands nowhere. He said being native of this place he was aware of the problems being faced by the inhabitants of Kathua constituency .
“I have prepared a blue-print for the growth and betterment of this region”, he said and reminded the gathering that as minister he had formulated a comprehensive housing plan for Nagri aaccording to which 428 houses were committed to hand over the needy but remaining out of power, the pending projects could not be completed. Babu Singh, who during his tenure had accelerate developmental activities, said that being the backward constituency of the State, and a gateway of J&K, deserves special attention. “I have a vision and roadmap for this belt”, he said and sought over-whelming support of the people to implement developmental agenda.
During his campaign Babu Singh appealed the people to defeat divisive forces and strengthen secularism to ensure development and prosperity. Cautioning people against divisive politics of BJP, Babu Singh said that such dangerous politics for petty political gains has always proved disastrous for the people.”
