SRINAGAR, June 1: Legislative Assembly has accepted three Private Member Resolutions of Congress MLA from Inderwal, including immediate survey for lying railway line from Gool-Kishtwar and Jammu to Poonch via Rajouri.
Mr Saroori in a statement here this afternoon said a communication was received by him from LA secretariat, informing that in terms of Rule 179 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the Speaker has admitted your Resolutions.
The resolutions which were accepted by the Speaker included a resolution on separate Chenab Valley Hill Development Council be established as per the analogy of Leh & Kargil Hill Development Council, Immediate Survey for laying Railway line from Gool to Kishtwar and Jammu to Poonch Via Rajouri & separate special financial component for erstwhile Doda be provide to bring at par with other Districts of the State.
Mr Saroori said all the resolutions submitted by him were of great public importance which will cover the population of more than 25 lakh. He said Kishtwar, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri Districts are hilly and backward areas of the State and people of these areas could not be deprived from railway link. “When India unfurls the tri color (National Flag) on moon and are sending new satellites into space every month therefore connecting Kishtwar, Doda, Rajouri & Poonch with Railway line will not be a difficult task in 21st century” said Saroori and added that he was hopeful that Government will allow safe passage of all these resolutions.
He said the Hill Development Council was long pending demand of people of Chenab Valley. He said even Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti while touring Doda & Kishtwar districts had demanded Hill Developmental Council for Chenab Valley when she was in the opposition. He said he felt that the ruling party PDP and Opposition NC will vote in favour of his resolutions.
Mr Saroori said a resolution few years ago moved by NC legislator in Upper House already stood passed so there was no reason for NC to not support his resolution in the Assembly.
