GUWAHATI, Jan 18 : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra entered Assam from Nagaland on Thursday.
He accused the BJP government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as the most corrupt government in the country.
Addressing party workers in Amguri in Sivasagar district, where the yatra entered Assam from Nagaland, the former AICC President stated that during the yatra, they would strive to expose the corrupt practices taking place under the BJP government in Assam.
Speaking about the situation in Manipur, Gandhi said that a civil war-like situation has been prevailing there since May last year.
He said that today Manipur has been divided into two parts. But it is not yet time for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit that state.
Rahul said last year’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has changed the “political narrative” of the country.
The Assam leg of the yatra will continue till January 25. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is scheduled to cover 17 districts in the state. (UNI)
