JAMMU, Oct 6: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) was killed and his wife got injured after they were was hit by a car at Bhatyari area of Bishnah.
As per police sources, a police ASI Kuldeep Raj, son of Ludher Mani, a resident of Ward Number 3, Bishnah and his wife Shruti Devi were on morning walk at Bhatyari, when a car bearing registration number JKO2BA-0555 hit them.
Both the injured persons were shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bishnah, from where they were later referred to GMCH Jammu, where Kuldeep Raj failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
Acting swiftly, a team from Police Station Bishnah conducted raids in various areas and finally nabbed the accused driver.
A case under FIR Number 216/17 under Section 279 and 304-A has been registered at Bishnah Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector PP Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
