KARGIL, June 26: Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram, was observed across Kargil with deep religious devotion and solemnity as thousands of mourners commemorated the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.S.), his family members and companions in the Battle of Karbala.
Peaceful mourning processions, Majalis, special prayers, Marsiya and Noha recitations, and traditional chest-beating rituals were organized by Jamiat-ul-Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil (JUIAK) and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT).
Charitable activities, including Sabeel, blood donation camps, medical assistance and other community service initiatives, were also held on the occasion.
Senior district officials reviewed the arrangements, while the District Administration ensured the availability of drinking water, medical teams, sanitation services and emergency response units.
Kargil Police, along with other security agencies, maintained law and order, regulated traffic and ensured the peaceful completion of all Ashura processions.
The observance concluded peacefully, reflecting the district's spirit of faith, unity and communal harmony while reaffirming the enduring message of truth, justice, sacrifice and moral courage associated with the martyrs of Karbala.
