Army provides tailoring centre to women

REASI, June 11: In its tradition towards empowerment of women and appreciating the need of vocational skill, Rashtriya Rifle Battalion at Kalakote under the aegis of Reasi based Rashtriya Rifle Headquarters donated a ‘Tailoring Centre’ at remote village of Gahrat under Kalakote tehsil.
The centre is aimed at empowering the women in the society with skills as well as a perspective to think beyond their house hold chores. This initiative will make them capable of augmenting their house hold income working from the bounds of their homes.
The tailoring centre will provide benefit to women of seven panchayats. Army has donated five stitching machines and a batch of 25 volunteer women will be the first batch to receive the skill of tailoring.
