JAMMU, Sept 18: To commemorate Golden Jubilee 1965 War celebrations of DAH Division, a Motorcycle Expedition was flagged off from Palampur to Khardungla (Ladakh) earlier this month.
The team has returned back to Palampur after successful completion of 8 days Expedition.
The Expedition was flagged in by Major General Amrit Pal Singh, General Officer Commanding of DAH Division on September 17, 2015.
The Expedition team of eight officers was led by Major Vivek Kler and covered a distance of approximately 1500 kilometers.
The expedition encompassed negotiation of treacherous terrain with heights varying from 15000 feet to 18000 feet. The members also interacted with veterans of the area enroute.
The aim of the expedition was to foster a spirit of adventure and also to motivate youth by projecting good image of Indian Army as well as highlight importance of conservation of ecological environment of the hills and mountain.
