Army organizes medical, veterinary camp

JAMMU, May 23: A two-day medical and veterinary camp was conducted by the team of Army doctors from Reasi based Rashtriya Rifles Force and its Samote unit.
Block Veterinary Surgeon Dr Waseem and doctors of Sheep and Animal Husbandry Department were also co-opted in this camp.
Approximately 3270 persons including men, women and children were examined during the medical camp, whereas 7600 animals including cows, buffaloes, sheep, goats and horses were provided medication. De-worming of cattle was done using imported equipment.
In addition to this, lectures on value addition, livestock production, importance of timely vaccination, de-worming etc were also conducted.
Expressing his views on the occasion, Khalil-ul-Rehman, Sarpanch of Darman village remarked that people living in backward areas have to walk long distances to get medical and veterinary care.
He added that camps like these provide health care at their doorsteps.
