KISHTWAR, May 28: Indian Army in coordination with civil administration of Kishtwar organised a trekking in Chingam to inculcate trekking and mountaineering spirit among local youth, here today.
The expedition started from Pathri Morh, Watsar and culminated at Sinthan Maidan while passing through mesmerising natural beauty of Chingam valley.
Earlier, Indian Army imparted awareness on expedients for jungle survival through a demonstration. After the mesmerising trekking of 10 kms, the event culminated with a heart warming demonstration of Gujjar Bakarwals musical at Sinthan Maidan.
Nearly 100 locals participated in the trekking from all segments of society and displayed the spirit of oneness.
The locals appreciated the efforts of the Civil administration and Indian Army for conducting such an event which brings to the fore the sense of affection for nature and foster tourism in the region.
