Srinagar, Dec 21: The Army today objected to the construction by Pakistani troops near Line of Control (LoC) at Teethwal in Karnah sector stating for any such construction “a general protocol is to be followed and unless prior intimation either of sides can’t undertake such works.”
An official said that activities were noticed from another side of the LoC and accordingly response was initiated by the Indian Army to stop the “unwarranted activity by Pakistani Rangers close to the LoC.”
He said it was observed that the Pakistani troops were undertaking some construction of a structure that was responded to by the Indian Army and by objecting to it in the required manner.
“Announcements were made to them on loudspeakers telling them to stop the construction”, he said.
The official said that there is a set protocol and either of the sides can’t undertake any construction close to the LoC without any prior intimation.
He said that they were constructing it within a 500 meters radius of LoC which is objectionable.
The official said that local representatives and residents also made verbal announcements on speakers to them to stop the construction.
The official further said that the construction was stopped by them when it was objected to by the Army.
