JAMMU, May 17: Army jawan, who had suffered over 90 per cent burn injuries in an accident at tehsil Akhnoor, today succumbed to his injuries at Command Hospital, Udhampur.
Identified as Raj Kumar, son of Tulsi Ram of Pangyadi, tehsil Akhnoor, the Jawan received serious burn injuries, when the motorcycle he was riding along with his two mates collided with an Army vehicle and later caught fire at tehsil Akhnoor yesterday.
He was airlifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The condition of the two others namely Ajay Kumar, son of Shanker Dass and Subash, son of Dhani Ram, both residents of Pangyadi, undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
