Army holds awareness camp at Sharifabad

Srinagar, June 28: A joint awareness camp was organised today under the aegis of DC Budgam and Indian Army for the residents of Sharifabad, Hanjik, Durbal, Soibugh and Hajibagh in the vicinity of Shalateng Garrison.
Nearly 800 locals from these villages visited the camp and availed the facilities provided in the camp.
The camp was jointly setup by the Army and Civil Administration. Booths were setup by various Government agencies to include Health Care, Social Welfare, Education, Electricity, Flood Control, Irrigation, Fisheries, Sericulture, Horticulture, Self Employment and Sports. Stalls were also setup by SBI and JK Bank.
A medical camp was also organised to provide health care facilities. Free medical checkup was conducted and medicines were distributed to the needy. About 450 locals availed the benefits of the medical camp setup by the Army and Civil Health Care Department.
The Youth Employment and Guidance Node (YEGN) of Army was established alongside the camp which provided career guidance to the youth and gave them an insight into the various employment opportunities.
The camp also demonstrated a combined approach of the civil administration and Army towards the goal of achieving prosperity amongst the youth of Kashmir.
The representatives of PHE and Tehsildars provided a patient hearing to the issues concerning water and power supply and assured a speedy redressal of the concerns.
