MENDHAR, Aug 6: The police arrested an Army Havaldar from Gursai area of Mendhar for duping several youth of their money, with the assurance to get them a job in Army and Railways.
A police spokesman said that action was taken by police after SDPO Mendhar, Shahid Nahim received some complaints against the accused Army personnel. Locals of the area who fell victims to this soldier, also produced a fake appointment order of Railways provided by him. They people of the area alleged that he had taken money ranging from rupees one lakh to Rs 1.5 lakhs from them for the job in Army and Railways.
Upon this, the SHO Gursai arrested the accused Havaldar Mohd Asif, son of Abdul Hussain, resident of Kangra in Balakote area of Gursai. He is presently posted in 20 JAK Rifle. The police has registered a case FIR No. 97/2015 against him. Further investigation was in progress.
