Army detains 2 youth in Uri

SRINAGAR, Oct 1:Army detained two youth for questioning in Kalgai area of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District where four fidayeen were killed in an encounter last week.
Two youth – Mohammad Maqbool Bhat  son of Mohammad Yusuf Bhat of Bandipayan and Nazir Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir of Kalantra Bala Uri – were clicking pictures and making videos at the encounter site yesterday. The troops got suspicious about the activities of the two youth and detained them.
They were later handed over to police for questioning. They are being questioned in Police Station Uri. However, police sources said that there no serious charge against them and they may be released soon.
It may be mentioned here that four fidayeen were killed in an encounter in Kalgai last week. Army said that they were tasked to attack Army camp at Kalgai. However, alert troops foiled their attack. Police and Army is looking for the clues as to who accompanied the four fidayeen to the spot.
