Arms haul in Tanghdar

Srinagar, May 2: Security forces today recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Gagdhari forests in Tanghdar area of North Kashmir.
Army’s 5/5 Gorkha Rifles conducted searches in Gagdhari forests of Tanghdar near the Line of Control (LoC) and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition. The recovered arms and ammunition include 6 pistols, 12 pistol magazines, one AK-57 rifle, 2 AK magazines, 1 Pika rifle, 2 rocket launchers, 2 Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs), one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), three hand grenades and 1590 rounds of AK ammunition.
It may be mentioned here that Army is alert along the Line of Control (LoC) as militants are waiting on launch pads for infiltration into Kashmir.
The Army has intensified searches along the LoC after inputs that four groups of militants have infiltrated in Uri and Gurez sectors last month.
Today’s recovery of arms is first of its kind near the LoC this year.
