JAMMU/ SAMBA/ KATHUA, June 5: Arjun Choudhary slammed a dazzling century as KC Sports Club won a thriller, drubbing Vishal Cricket Club by 4 wickets in a high scoring match of the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, under the patronage of JKCA Administrators namely Justice CK Prasad and Justice Raffat Alam, under the chairmanship of CEO JKCA AH Bukhari and overall supervision of retired Judge Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Committee of Members in the districts of Jammu, Samba and Kathua.
At GGM Science College Hostel ground, Jammu, KC Sports Club riding on their skipper Arjun Choudhary’s brilliance defeated Vishal Cricket Club in an exciting contest.
Winning the toss and batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored a decent total of 212 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Skipper Rajesh Gill top scored with 84 runs off 69 balls including 11 fours and 2 sixes, while Lakhan contributed 59 off 58 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and one six. Robin and Jagteshwar also chipped in with 24 and 20 runs respectively. Sunil took 3 wickets from KC Sports Club, while Atul and Hisham claimed 2 and one wicket respectively.
In reply, KC Sports Club chased the target in a close contest as Arjun Choudhary scored magnificent 112 runs off 86 balls, studded with12 boundaries and 6 massive sixes. Hisham also contributed valuable 21 off 25 balls with 3 fours. From Vishal Cricket Club, Lakhan and Rohit took 2 wickets each, while Sandesh claimed one wicket.
Arjun Choudhary of KC Sports Club was declared man of the match for his brilliant century.
At Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Ground, Smailpur in Samba, Brig Rajinder Cricket Club thrashed MCC Rahya by a huge margin of 112 runs.
Batting first, Brig Rajinder Singh CC scored 192 runs in 20 overs. Farooq top scored with 76 runs off 44 balls including 4 fours and 7 sixes, while Fathu contributed unbeaten 38 runs to the total. Sahil was the pick of the bowlers for MCC Rahya, who bagged 5 important wickets.
In reply, MCC Rahya collapsed at 70 runs in 14 overs to lose the match by 112 runs. Lucky top scored with 20 runs. Sourav took 4 wickets, while Salim claimed 3 wickets from Brig Rajinder Singh Cricket Club.
At Sports Stadium, Kathua, Dream XI Kathua defeated Hiranagar Junior by 95 runs.
Batting first, Dream XI Kathua scored 196 runs in 29.2 overs. Nikhil (45), Abhishek Sharma (32) and Anubhav (28) were the main scorers. Surat took 3 wickets, while Vivek and Mukesh claimed 2 wickets each from Hiranagar Junior.
In reply, Hiranagar Junior bundled out for 101 runs. Sanjeev Singh and Arush Gupta contributed 21 and 14 runs to the total respectively. Gourav took 3 wickets, while Abhishek and Muzamil claimed 2 wickets each.
