Arigutan Park to be dedicated to public shortly: Altaf

SRINAGAR, Aug 22: Arigutan Environment Park, coming up in Kulgam constituency at a cost of Rs. 1.05 crore, would be completed and dedicated to public next month.
This information was given to the Minister for Forests and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad at a meeting convened to review the status of the Park. Spread over 4.3 hectares of land, the foundation of the park was laid last September by the Forest Minister aimed to give  alternate recreational facilities to the people of the Kulgam district.
MLA, Kulgam M.Y Tarigami, Secretary Forests, Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir, Director Ecological Environment and Remote Sensing besides other senior officers of the Forest Department were present on the occasion.
It was given out that most of the works have been completed while work is going on the remaining part of the project. The concerned officers were asked to monitor the progress of the project and ensure that it is completed as per the schedule.
While reviewing the availability of timber in the constituency, it was given out that 35000 Cft have been dumped in different sale depots of Forest Department targeted for current year and the sale has been started from this month.
The Minister asked the concerned officers to verify the cases thoroughly and ensure that timber will reach to the genuine and deserving families.
