JAMMU, June 11: Association of Industries Gangyal has expressed strong resentment against frequent power cuts and low voltage problem in Gangyal industrial area.
An urgent meeting of Association of Industries (AoI) Gangyal was held under the chairmanship of Rattan Dogra, president of the Association to discuss the power crisis in SICOP Industrial area, Gangyal, Jammu for the last two months.
The members raised serious concern about the frequent tripping of power supply and low voltage from Grid Station and Gangyal receiving station due to which the unit holders are facing problem and their production activity disturbed resulting huge financial loss. Apart from production loss, the motors and electrical parts of the machinery are damaged because of interruption and low voltage. Many a times the matter was brought in the notice of Chief Engineer, M&RE and System Operation, the members said.
The Association strongly flayed the working of Power Development Department (PDD) where nobody is accountable for repeated power failures and low voltage in Industrial Area, Gangyal. The officers incharge are not showing the interest to improve the system. Even the built-in-system of taps to increase the voltage is not being taken care leaving the entrepreneurs at the mercy of God, the Association alleged.
On one side, the State Govt has already committed for 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to industry but how it will be fulfilled by casual approach of Power Development Department and thus failing the intention and efforts of the then Govt.
The Association appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik and Advisor KK Sharma to intervene into the matter and assure the industry 24 hours quality power without interruption to the Gangyal Industrial Area.
The meeting was also attended by Bansi Lal Gupta, Ashok Jain, Pardeep Vaid, Sandeep Ohri and Lavinder Singh Puri.
