Anti- encroachment drive launched in Poonch City

POONCH, Sept 6: The Poonch Municipality removed scores of illegal structures during a special anti-encroachment drive launched near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge here today.
Officials of Revenue Department along with Police team also joined the drive and assisted Poonch Municipality staff during operation.
With the help of JCBs extended tin roofs/shades of the shops, drain grills and illegal parked motor cycles were removed and goods were also seized. Some extended concrete structures were also demolished.
CEO Poonch Municipality said that people were illegally parking vehicles on roads, shopkeepers had also taken out roof awnings and drain grills which have been demolished.
“Shopkeeper needs to keep their items inside and mechanics must repair vehicles one by one in shop otherwise they will be fined, goods and vehicles will be seized in future also”, he added.
