ANTF seizes psychotropic drugs, nabs 3 smugglers

JAMMU, Nov 22: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir police, specialized unit to check rising menace of drugs, achieved another success today when it foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of Psychotropic substances viz Codeine Phosphate and Spasmo Proxyvon Plus capsules from Panipat to Srinagar and nabbed three smugglers.
ANTF Jammu received specific information that a truck bearing Registration number PB10HB3586 is coming from New Delhi to Jammu and shall be moving further to Kashmir Valley, SP ANTF Vinay Sharma told a press conference. He was flanked by DySP Arun Jamwal, Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and other officers..
On this information, the ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid nakas. The truck was intercepted and during its search, ANTF team recovered huge quantity of Psychotropic Substances (6700 bottles of Welcyrex/Wincirx Codeine Phosphate and 18000 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus) concealed under the blanket rolls and arrested three persons including Amit Saxena S/o Mukesh saxena R/o East Arjun Nagar Delhi, Surjeet Kumar S/o Madan Lal R/o village Jadla Nawasher Punjab and Rohit S/o Paramjeet R/o village Jadla, Nawasher in Punjab.
It is pertinent to mention here that Amit Saxena is a notorious narco smuggler of New Delhi and was wanted in many NDPSA cases. Two days ago, another notorious narco dealer of Delhi named Salman was arrested by ANTF from Delhi. The two back to back arrests of Delhi based Narco dealers are expected to spill the beans about banned Pharmaceutical drug cartel of North India including illegal drug manufacturing Industries. All three smugglers have been arrested and truck was seized. A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and ANTF is investigating further links. More arrests are expected.
