Annual Manimahesh Yatra Charri proceed towards Bharmour

BHADERWAH, Aug 22: The first batch of annual Manimahesh Yatra with holy Mace (Charri) here today left Bhaderwah for onward journey to the holy shrine of Manimahesh in Bharmour district of Himachal Pradesh.

The Charri Yatra commenced from Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Mandir Bazaar Bhaderwah, where since morning devotees started assembling from different parts of Chenab Valley and after having breakfast and lunch there, they proceeded towards Manimahesh.

A group of about 200 devotees departed from Lakshmi Narayan Temple Bhaderwah to Bheja village where they will stay for a night and then proceed towards the shrine in Himachal Pradesh.

The devotees will proceed towards Manimahesh via Bhaderwah-Padri-Chamba route on foot and will reach Bheja Village by night. Next morning the Yatra will proceed to its next stay at Padri Meadows and after that the pilgrims will enter HP the next stay.

Another group of pilgrims will leave on Nag Panchami in buses.

The pilgrims were seen off by the administration and people from all walks of life, who prayed for the happy pilgrimage.

Manimahesh Lake (also known as Dal Lake, Manimahesh), situated in Himalayas is a high altitude lake.

The route to Manimahesh is via Chamba, Bharmour and Hadsar. Motorable road goes till Hadsar. The rest path is to be covered on foot.
