Ankit Gupta discusses startup opportunities for J&K youth with Dr Jitendra Singh

NEW DELHI, Sept 1: BJP Jammu & Kashmir UT spokesperson Ankit Gupta met Union Minister of State in PMO with Independent charge of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Ministries, Dr. Jitendra Singh here, today and held a detailed discussion on the rapidly expanding startup ecosystem and the growing culture of entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir.

Gupta said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, India has witnessed an unprecedented transformation in its startup landscape. From around 350 recognised startups in 2014, India today has more than 2.3 lakh recognised startups, generating nearly 25 lakh employment opportunities across the country.

He said the entrepreneurial spirit has also gained significant momentum in Jammu & Kashmir, with young people increasingly choosing innovation, enterprise and self-employment over conventional career paths.

During the meeting, Gupta apprised Dr. Jitendra Singh about the difficulties and challenges being faced by young entrepreneurs in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in accessing timely funding, financial support, mentorship, market linkages and other institutional assistance. He emphasised the need for a more streamlined and accessible ecosystem so that promising ideas from the region can be transformed into sustainable and successful enterprises.

Dr. Jitendra Singh , while assured full support and assistance to the young entrepreneurs of Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasised the Government of India’s commitment to nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship and employment generation among the youth and assured that all possible efforts would be made to facilitate greater access to Government schemes, funding opportunities and institutional support for budding entrepreneurs from the region.
