SRINAGAR, July 17: Scores of Anganwadi workers and helpers of Social Welfare Department today protested against the Government to press for their demands.
The workers and helpers assembled at Press Enclave under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association and raised slogans against the government.
Addressing the protesters at the Press Enclave, AWHA president Naseema Kuchay appealed to the government to regularize their services, increase monthly honorarium and other pending demands.
She said the higher authorities have released funds for Anganwadi workers and helpers but functionaries in CDPO and District Social Welfare Offices (DSWO) have not paid their wages for past nine months.
AWHA warned to intensify their agitation.
