Amit Shah to undertake padayatra in Kannur

KANNUR: BJP National President Amit Shah will take part in padayatra (Foot Procession) during his two-day visit in Kannur district which passes through the native places of Chief Minister and CPI(M) state secretary.
Mr Shah will reach Kannur from Mangalore by road on October 3 and he will walk 9.8 km on the the first day of padayatra yatra between the stretch of Payyanur to Pilathara and return to Mangalore on same day by road.
Later he would again reach Kannur from Mangalore on October 5 to attend the third day padayatra and walk 12 km between the stretch at Mambaram to Thalassery via Pinarayi the native village of Chief Minister Pinarayi VIjayan and he would address the public function at Thalassery.
Talking to media persons at a press conference here, BJP national leader, P K Krishnadas said BJP State president Kumanam Rajasekharan will lead the padayatra.
Mr Shah will reach Payyanur by road on October 3 around 1100 hrs and he first visit the photo exhibition, arranged near the ” Vadikkal Ramakrishnan Nagar”, the main venue at Payyanur and given floral tributes to 85 balidans of BJP/RSS,who were killed by CPI(M) and Jihadi elements in the Kannur district. Later a meeting will be inaugurated by Amit Shah, in which MLA O Rajagopal will preside and former BJP State president V Muraleedharan will deliver welcome address.
On the second day (October 4) at Kannur, the padayatra will begin from Keecheri around 1030 hrs and ends at Kannur stadium corner. Union Minister of state for Finance Shivaprasad Shukla would inaugurate the yatra and participate the yatra along with MPs Manoj Thiwari and Suresh Gopi.
Mr Das said on October 5 that the BJP national president Mr Shah will attend the padayatra between Mambaram to Thalassery and address the public meeting at Thalassery.
On October 6, the padayatra will begin from Panoor and ends at Koothuparamba. MP Arjun Ram Meghwal will attend the padayatra along with national leaders.
Mr Das said all other ten districts, the yatra will cross by padayatra and vehicle procession and ends on October 17 at Thiruvananthapuram by taking one day each to cover one district.
He said in Kannur the padayatra is organize across the district to depict the violence of red and jihadi terrorism, both have high influence in the district.
He said there is no difficult to public including block, while passing the padayatra across the district even without affect the plying of vehicle. All arrangements, including food and accommodation with north Indian dishes, are arranged for BJP workers during all the days. (agencies)
