JAMMU, Jan 10: Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha alongwith its youth wing Kumar Sabha came forward in support of Ajatshatru Singh, Member Legislative Council (MLC), who raised the issue of declaration of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday in the ongoing Budget Session, here today.
A large delegation led by the President Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Narain Singh met Ajatshatru Singh and extended support for raising the issue. The delegation comprised of various office bearers of the Sabha representing various Shakha Sabhas.
The members of the delegation apprised the legislator about their sentiments related to declaration of holiday on September 23 to mark the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. They also discussed possible future course of action in case the Government fails to fulfill the just and long pending demand.
While speaking on the occasion, Narain Singh impressed upon Ajatshatru Singh to continue his fight for restoring the pride of Jammu people, while Pawan Singh representing the Kumar Sabha also reiterated his support for the cause.
Ajatshatru Singh while addressing the delegation resolved to continue his efforts for getting the holiday on September 23 as he considers it to be a matter of pride for the whole State. He asked the delegates to hold meetings at Panchayat, block, tehsil and district level to create a mass awareness about the golden era of Maharaja Hari Singh so that the younger generation is able to understand the last Maharaja in right perspective.
Ajatshatru further expressed his hope that his untiring efforts within the legislature as well as outside the legislature will bear fruits and he will be able to get the holiday declared by the Government.
Among others present were Karan Manhas, Vikram Singh, Ajmer Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Sanju Manhas, Dilawar Singh and Daljeet Singh Aithmian.
