JAMMU , Nov 21: MP Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that the process of initiation of contest for DDC elections is all set to empower people at grass root level. He said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering people is reaching its final stage
He was speaking at a rally organised by party today in connection with filing of nomination papers by Geetu Aulakh , the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for District Development Council (DDC) election from Phallian Mandal block. She filed her papers at SDM office Gadigarh.
Besides Jugal Kishore Sharma, she was accompanied by party bigwigs like former ministers Sukhnandan Chaudhary, Bali Bhagat and Kavinder Gupta.
Sukhnandan Chaudhary, former Minister said that the whole of the block Mandal is looking forward to Geetu Aulakh’s victory as 10 of his Panchayats as well as three cantonment blocks are in full support of the party .
“We want to assure that BJP comes to power at the grass root level as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is keenly concerned in decentralizing power to the people so that all issues are addressed at doorsteps,” said Sukhnandan Chaudhary .
Bali Bhagat on the occasion that opposition parties who had formed an amalgamation of Gupkar Alliance are a worried lot due to emergence of BJP at all levels. “They have tried all tricks to befool people. The ground enthusiasm of people in support of BJP is quite apparent from all nook and corner and all the 14 blocks of Jammu will get BJP winners,” said Bali Bhagat .
Kavinder Gupta joined in saying that BJP is the only party that has taken drastic steps for the empowerment of people in all states, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. “It is after the independence that BJP rose to occasion to strengthen democracy at the grass root level. This will complete the three tier empowerment of Panchayati Raj as power will be decentralized at all levels ,” said Kavinder.
Geetu Aulakh , coming out of SDM office after filing her nomination while talking to the media said that she has only one vision of joint collaboration with her people and schedule her all efforts as desired by her people in the constituency.
“I do not want to make big claims at the moment. I am grateful to BJP for having given me the mandate to contest the elections. If voted to power, my first priority will be to reach door to door to my people and sit with them, decide and formulate the strategy for holistic development of my constituency .” said Geetu Aulakh. The voting for the block is scheduled for December 10.
