MANDI, Jan 6: Stating that adequate distribution of ration in the far-flung areas is high on the priorities of the Government, Member Legislative Assembly Haveli, Shah Mohammad Tantray today said no deserving soul will be left out of the ambit of National Food Security Act (NFSA).
While addressing a meeting of officers at Mandi, Mr. Tantray instructed the Revenue and CA&PD authorities to ensure de-duplication and eradication of bogus ration cards while ensuring that no deserving family is left out during the enrollment process under NFSA.
Tehsildar Mandi, Auqil Nuvaid, Tehsil Supply Officer, Aslam Malik besides Naib Tehsildars and Parwaris attended the meeting.
“To provide ration at affordable rates is the main intent behind NFSA”, he said while instructing the authorities to ensure coverage of every deserving family.
“Tehsil Mandi is one of the remotest tehsils in the State and the BPL to APL ratio is very high and will be looked into”, he said adding that except people falling in exclusion category, no one will be left out.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tantray also convened a meeting of officials of Rural Development Department at Mandi and reviewed the implementation of MGNREGA and other RDD schemes in block Mandi, Sathra and Loran.
Mr. Tantray stressed on participation of people at panchayat level in formulation and implementation of plans for rural development. He also instructed the BDOs for effective monitoring of ongoing development works so that quality is not compromised.
Among others BDO Mandi, Yaar Ali Khan, BDO Loran, Zaheer Abbas Kaifi besides Panchayat Secretaries attended the meeting.
