Akhnoor, Gandhi Nagar clinch U-19 titles

JAMMU, Sept 1: Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions in various sports disciplines commenced today at different venues across district Jammu, with around 500 students from different zones participating with enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

In U-19 Boys Cricket, Zone Jourian defeated Zone Akhnoor by 7 runs. Jourian scored 69 runs for 7 wickets, with Neeyam scoring 23 runs. For Akhnoor, Raghav and Aman took two wickets each. Akhnoor was bowled out for 62 runs, with Vansh scoring 23 runs. Varun and Shaurya claimed three wickets each for Jourian.

In U-19 Boys Football, Zone Marh defeated Zone Bhalwal by 2-0, while Zone Gandhi Nagar drew 1-1 with Zone Jourian. Zone Jammu registered a 4-0 victory over Zone Bishnah.

In U-14 Girls Kho-Kho, Miran Sahib defeated Akhnoor by 12-9 and Chowki Choura by 7-3, while Jammu defeated Chowki Choura by 11-3. Marh defeated Satwari by 9-3.

In U-17 Girls Kho-Kho, Miran Sahib defeated Akhnoor by 11-4, Jammu defeated Chowki Choura 9-4 and later defeated Miran Sahib 7-3.

In U-19 Girls Kho-Kho, Akhnoor defeated Miran Sahib by 9-5, Jammu defeated Chowki Choura by 8-3, Satwari defeated Marh by 9-4 and Chowki Choura defeated Miran Sahib by 9-5.

In U-19 Handball, Akhnoor defeated Satwari by 10-5 in the first semifinal, while Gandhi Nagar defeated Jammu by 10-6 in the second semifinal. In the final, Gandhi Nagar defeated Akhnoor by 12-6 to clinch the title.

In U-19 Boys Kabaddi, Jammu defeated Khour by 40-21 in the first semifinal, while Akhnoor defeated Jourian by 40-11 in the second semifinal. In the final, Akhnoor defeated Jammu by 35-29 to emerge as champions.
