Akhilesh bats for qualitative improvement in education

LUCKNOW, Dec 20:
Stressing on qualitative improvement in the field of education, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said youth power remained untapped in the country because of lack of uniformity in the education system.
“The education department should work on improving the quality of education and with the help of new techniques, as is the demand of the present times, the results would be much better,” Yadav said.
“Only countries which have made better arrangements for education have developed,” he added.
The Chief Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stones of and inaugurating some government high school buildings at a programme here.
“We want that everyone gets qualitative education…If basic, secondary and higher education is improved, the results would be very different and good…It would change the face of our education system”.
The chief minister also honoured nine teachers with “Saraswati samman” and “Shikshak Shree” here at the function.
Alleging that the government failed on solving the problem of unemployment in the country, he said that the youth power remained fully untapped in the country because of lack of uniformity in education and government’s failure to provide employment at the right time.
“Government did not do what they should have done in the field of education…If they had served their responsibilities well, every one would have got uniformed education today,” Yadav said.
“Youth have been given right to vote in the constitution and if the governments do not come on the right track this one vote would bring a change. Today is not just the era of dreams but that of designer dreams…Political parties have projected the dream of 24 hour power supply but none of them did anything,” he said. (PTI)
