NEW DELHI, Aug 17:
The results of All India Pre- Medical/Pre-Dental Test, which was re-conducted on July 25 after allegations of large-scale irregularities in the first examination, were declared today with 18,610 candidates placed in merit and wait list.
Haryana boy Vipul Garg, whose father runs a shop of suitcases in Jind, topped the AIPMT 2015 while the second position was bagged by Rajasthan’s Khushi Tiwari, both of them being from unreserved category.
Vipul secured 695 marks out of 720 while Khushi scored 688, said Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which conducted the exam.
Both the toppers want to take admission in Maulana Azad Medical College here.
The examination was conducted in 50 cities at 1065 centres and 3,74,386 candidates appeared in the examination, of whom 1,80,957 were boys and 1,93,429 girls.
There are 3722 seats against 15 per cent of all India quota.
An elated Vipul said he’s glad that he has been able to make his parents proud.
“I was also offered a scholarship for my medical coaching by a private coaching institute. I come from a humble family and my parents had to face lot of hardships to meet my education expenses,” Vipul, who wants to become a cardiologist, said.
Khushi, who aspires to pursue endocrinology as her specialisation, said the second round of the test helped her better her performance. (AGENCIES)
