SAMBA, Aug 27: A meeting of All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) was held here today at Vijaypur under the leadership of its president, Abdul Majid Malik, to discuss the issues of State OBCs particularly reservation issue.
The participants observed that State rulers have become silent over the due share of reservation as per Apex Court’s Judgement of 1992 on Mandal Report.
They were also of the view that both National Conference (NC) and Congress have hatched a plot against the State OBCs to scuttle their due share of 27% reservation in the State.
Elaborating the issue speakers pointed out that all OBC institutions have been deliberately made non-functional. They alleged that State Backward Classes Commission with Non-OBC chairman, which has been converted into Backward Area Commission and State OBC Advisory and Development Board, whose chairman is himself the Chief Minister of the State, have failed to conduct its regular meetings for about last two years.
“The meeting of Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma and vice-chairman of State OBC Advisory and Development Board with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at New Delhi has also failed to raise the basic issue of reservation of State OBCs, which shows that they have no interest for the State OBCs”, they said.
The speakers also criticized those who were opposing the caste based reservation. They expressed their firm stand to depose the rulers in the forth coming Parliamentary and Assembly elections by way of referendum in 2014.
