JAMMU, Sept 26: Agriculture Officers (PSC recruited) in its general body meeting here, today constituted the Association under the nomenclature J&K Agriculture Officers Association (Gazetted DR) and elected Dr Adil Rashid as its president.
Suresh Khajuria was elected as general secretary of the Association while Dr Ashwani Sharma was elected as convener, Rajesh Gupta was elected as treasurer, Yaduvinder Singh & Neeraj Rajwal were elected as press and publicity secretaries respectively.
Rajesh Verma, Deepak Singh, Alok Pandotra, Vinod Kundal, Sushil Kumar and Bhopinder Kumar were elected as Core Group members.
The General Body also elected A S Reen, Ashwani Kotwal, Arvind Baru, Jhangir Shafi, Vijay Upadhaya, Farooq Bhat, J C Raina, Sanjay Verma, Anil Rawal, Satish Sharma, M G Singh, Vinod Sharma, D S Manhas, B K Mahajan, Aman Jyoti, Ram Gopal, Tilak Raj, Omkar Chand, Roshan Lal, Krishan Kant, Sukhbir Singh, Ajaz Ahmed Kohli, Vikas Padha, Susheel Rattan, Haroon Hussain, Vikas Koushal and Kushal Chanddel as Central Executive members.
In his address president of the Association, Adil Rashid asked the newly elected team to work relentlessly and wholeheartedly for the welfare of agriculture fraternity of the State. He said the direct recruit Agriculture officers despite facing the long stagnation of more than three decades are working hard and dedicatedly in the service of the farmers.
He urged the State Government to settle the seniority issue as per 1988 Agriculture (Gazetted) rules, convene the DPC maintaining 50 percent quota for direct recruits and extend Assured Career Progression (ACP) to the Gazetted Agriculture officers in line with other technical departments as promised in the floor of Assembly.
The deputation J&K Agriculture Officers Association (Gazetted DR) led by its president Dr Aadil Rashid met the Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and discussed various demands with him.
