Agitating employees urge LG to save assets of Dharmarth Trust

JAMMU, Dec 3: Continuing their protest for the second consecutive day, the agitating employees of J&K Dharmarth Trust today appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to Constitute the new independent council under the chairmanship of President of Dharmarth Trust to save the assets of Dharmarth Trust as the existing management has failed to work as per the requirement of the Trust.
Under the banner of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association and Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, the protesting employees held demonstration in front of Shri Raghunath Ji Temple Jammu.
They were raising slogans in support of their demands and against the attitude of the trust management. Employees from various units of the trust, such as Shri Raghunath ji Mandir, Hari Bhawan Purmandal, Uttar Behani ,Birpur, and Central office Karan Bhawan participated in the protest demonstration.
Meanwhile, the Dharmarth Trust management has rejected the allegations leveled by the employees. In a statement, spokesperson of the Trust said that certain unscrupulous entities were trying to malign the image of this age old institution having a history of preserving and promoting rich Dogra culture, just to satiate their vested interests.
“On 1st June, 2020, due to numerous public complaints regarding misappropriation of Chadawa/ donation by Pujaris, the Thali systems in the temples falling under the realm of Dharmarth Trust was abolished and only secure Dan Patras were permitted for collection of Chadawa which led to agitation by some disgruntled Pujaris,” said the spokesperson.
