SRINAGAR, May 8: Director General, Youth Services and Sports Navin Aggarwal today inspected Multi-facility Sports Centre, Rajbagh Srinagar which is under construction at an estimated cost of Rs. 18.91 lakhs.
The DG YSS was accompanied by the Engineers of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) and officers of the Department of Youth Services and Sports including Deputy Director Mtr Neelofar Amin.
The DG YSS while taking stock of these works asked the officers of JK PCC to speed up the construction work so that sports community of Valley in general and youth of Srinagar city in particular take benefit of these facilities. The DG YSS was apprised by the officers that three Lawn Tennis Courts and Football field are almost complete, while as, construction of two Basketball Courts has started.
The DG YSS desired that these field/courts be made operational soon. Further, Gymnasium, Squash Courts are also under construction and a Swimming Pool is proposed to come up in this project.
Interacting with the staff members and other executing agencies, the DG YSS disclosed that the sports fields and courts shall be made operational soon on priority basis.
