NEW DELHI, Sept 2:
Cardiologist and President of Heart Care Foundation of India Dr K K Aggarwal has been unanimously elected as the new general secretary of Indian Medical Association (IMA) for two years.
He will take over from Dr Narender Saini.
Aggarwal has been the recepient of three national awards — the Padma Shri, Dr BC Roy National Award and DST National Science Communication Award. At present, Aggarwal is the senior national vice president of the IMA, which serves as the largest national organization of “Doctors of Modern Scientific System of Medicine” in the country. Padma Shri Awardee Dr A Marthanda Pillai who belongs to Kerala and Dr S S Aggarwal from Rajasthan have been appointed IMA’s new national presidents. (PTI)
