KARGIL, July 19: Advisor Ladakh Umang Narula started his three-day tour of Kargil and visited Drass Sub-Division today where he interacted with a number of delegations at Mushkow Valley and adjoining villages.
The public delegations projected their demands which mainly included installation of mobile towers in the area, macadamization of link roads and opening up of Mushkow Valley for domestic & foreign tourists. While interacting with the public delegations, the Advisor said that the UT Administration is fully committed to address the developmental needs and grievances of the people living in the villages.
The Advisor also visited the COVID-19 screening point at Meenamarg and took stock of the screening activities there. He expressed satisfaction on the overall arrangements and screening activities and asked the screening team to continue to work with continued professionalism and alertness in containing the spread of Coronavirus.
He also visited Drass War Memorial and paid tributes to the martyrs of Kargil War. Sub Divisional Magistrate Drass and other sectoral officers accompanied the Advisor during the tour.
Later in the evening, the Advisor held a meeting with Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan and Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer LAHDC Kargil, Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary and held detailed discussions with regard to the ongoing developmental activities in the district.
On the way to Kargil the Advisor convened a meeting of sectoral officers at Khaltsi and reviewed the progress of developmental works in the Sub-Division. He asked the officers to pace up the execution of works to ensure timely completion of works. Later, he also inspected the Dah- Hydroelectric Power House and took stock of the functioning of project.
