REASI, Oct 6: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today visited Panchayat Halqa Khairlair of block Pouni of Reasi district in connection with Back to Village program and held interaction with the PRI members and general public to assess the local developmental needs and other demands of public there.
The Advisor chaired a Gram Sabha in which people from all sections of the society participated and projected the issues and demands regarding the development of the area.
Specific issues which were projected during the Gram Sabha include acute shortage of drinking water in some areas of the Panchayat, construction of road from Khjor to Khairlair Panchayat, delay in the maintenance tendering of PHE Department, PMGSY Road Purya to Belluian, auctioning of minor minerals blocks at Panchayat level.

The Advisor said that the UT administration is committed to provide all the basic facilities at the doorsteps of the common man so that they don’t have to keep running around Government offices for getting their problems redressed.
He assured the public that their demands and issues have been documented and they need to make their own action plan at panchayat and block level.
The Advisor impressed upon the PRI members to plan out the development works of their respective panchayats in order to fulfil the aspirations of people regarding development at all levels.
He also asked the officers and officials of different departments present on the occasion to ensure that all the basic facilities are provided to the general public in a transparent and efficient manner
The Advisor also innagurated volleyball tournament during the visit and witnessed a match there. He handed over the prizes to winner and runner up teams during the event.
He also distributed sports kits among enthusiastic sports persons and other beneficiaries.
District Development Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rashmi Wazir, Block Development Chairperson Pouni, Assistant Commissioner Development, other district/sectoral officers and field functionaries of different departments were present on the occasion.
