Admission process for 5th batch of SMVD College of Nursing to start from Apr 26

KAKRYAL, Feb 28: The 38th meeting of the Governing Body of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing (SMVDCoN), Kakryal, which was held here today, reviewed the arrangements being put in place for the selection of students for the fifth batch of the college, process for which would commence from 26th April 2020.
The meeting was informed that online portal for filling up application forms for admission for the fifth batch of the 4 year B Sc Nursing Course at the SMVDCoN will commence from 26th April and the last date for submission of online application forms will be 4th June 2020. However, the option to submit offline forms at the SMVDCoN, Kakryal and Kalika Dham, Jammu will also be kept available for the applicants, which will be later uploaded on the portal to generate Admit Cards. The Entrance Examination will be conducted on 7th June at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and the classes for the fifth batch (2020-21) will start from first week of July 2020.
The Governing Body meeting, chaired by Maj Gen (Retd) S K Sharma , Member Shrine Board, was attended by Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Dr V Verma, Dean, SMVDU; Dr Sunil Sharma, Dy CEO of Shrine Board and Administrator of SMVDCoN; Dr J P Singh, Senior Consultant, Neuro Surgery, SMVDNSH; and Dr Shailla Cannie, Principal SMVDCoN.
The GB also discussed brass tacks for organising a 2-day national level conference on nursing by the SMVDCoN in September 2020 in which a number of leading nursing colleges and other such prominent institutions from across the country are likely to participate.
Referring to the high importance of capacity building of the Nursing College on continuing basis to develop it as a centre of excellence, the GB held preliminary deliberations on entering into collaborations with the nursing institutions of repute within the country and beyond for imparting top quality nursing education at the SMVDCoN. The meeting also called for exploring the opportunities of job placements for the passing-out students of the Nursing College for their better career prospects.
